The St Vincent de Paul Society is an international Christian voluntary organisation. Members of the St Joseph's Conferences meet weekly. 

They visit individuals and families, as requested, in their own homes, and also in hospitals and nursing homes. The main purpose of the visits is to offer the hand of friendship. More specific practical assistance can be given, depending on the nature of the help required and the capacity of the local membership. SVP Conference can sometimes give limited help towards the cost of essential items. St Joseph's SVP Conference as raised money for various overseas projects, for example, a recent project was the "Pakistani Floods Appeal".
