At the invitation of the parish priest Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the Sacrament at Mass; take Holy Communion to the sick and housebound, attend a day of recollection each year.

Ministers of Holy Communion are appointed by the Bishop at the request of their parish priest and are expected to renew their commitment at the annual celebration of the Mass of the Lord's Supper.
